"man, shamefully whichever way you cut it I was trying to impress some people I can't even stomach. You like to think you're cool enough to not care if you're cool, but the spirit gets distracted, the flesh is fing cruel". I agree with you man, being older now I can look back to my teens and be like, why did I do that and why did I care what they thought? Super relatable bar

Kiln, Jonathan and Used Cars are probably the top 3 on this album.

There's this guy I've watched a few times who does some really great musical breakdowns of a lot of genres involving instrument playing. His analysis of that kind of music was FANTASTIC. For some reason he decided to try to do the same thing for an Aesop Rock album (Spirit World Field Guide, I'm pretty sure) and he was just LOST. I'm kinda tempted to track that down again and point him to this video to see how to do a breakdown of this type of music REALLY WELL. I loved your commentary on this and the way you broke down the elements. Great job adding more to the video.
And if I do send this to that guy and he sees this comment: I super duper respect you, man. You just clearly weren't equipped for the task that day. It might never be your thing for that kind of music, and that's *100%* okay, if so. I just wanted you to see this to expand your horizons and maybe gain a new lens for how to look at something like Aesop Rock that you just weren't ready for. No shame in that, and no shame if you just don't like it and it doesn't hit you in the feels the way it does some of us. I myself sometimes don't understand how I can SO love instrumental mathrock and postrock and whatnot, then also come over to Aesop Rock with ALL THE DAMN WORDS. ALL OF THEM. (Sorry my comment to that guy was longer than the one to you, channel man, but hey: The Algorithm is going to be happy with the engagement either way, yeah?)

I’d love to suggest Smock from the Mallon boys also. First heard it live on some mind benders and it completely took me away. Not the music video though, it’s them performing live in a car.

Love Aesops verse on this track. I dont think ive ever related to a line more than "escape artist careful not to spook the horses."
